Description
Grown in Colombia’s central coffee-growing region south from the capital Bogotá, this decaf coffee uses a new and innovative procedure to extract the caffeine from the beans: the so-called sugar cane method. With this method the green coffee is soaked and fermented into sugar cane juice causing the caffeine to be absorbed by certain components of the sugar cane juice. This method preserves the full coffee taste rather than diluting it as happens with other decaffeination methods, nor does it give the typical slightly burned after taste as happens with chemical decaffeination methods.
